PRTA’s "Circles of Understanding" model is based on groups of 15-20 individuals who come together in a deliberative, democratic dialogue about important civic issues.
By participating in "Circles of Understanding", citizens gain a deeper understanding of their own and other's perspectives and concerns. They discover common ground and a greater desire and ability to work collaboratively in order to solve local problems as individuals, members of small groups, and members of the larger community.
This approach fosters new connections among community members that lead to new levels of community action. "Circles of Understanding" also creates new connections between citizens and government, both at an institutional level and among community members.
